Prima Chemicals, located in Odhav, Ahmedabad, Gujarat was founded in 1976 by Mr. Kamlesh Modi for manufacturing Pyrazolones, which are specialty intermediates for Pigments and Acid dyes. What began as a small unit designed for a 1 ton/month capacity is now the single largest manufacturer of 20 different Pyrazolones in the world. We have reached a manufacturing capacity of 1400 tons annually.

The requirement of Pyrazolones is catered to by two manufacturing units-Prima Chemicals and Polygon Chemicals.

Our strength is our knowledge, hard work and humble beginnings and hence we always opt for niche segments where technical expertise and active management involvement is needed to carry out the production.

This led us to introduce a highly specialized segment of Solvent Dyes-Primasol Dyes in the year 2002  having applications for Paints, Enamels, Wood Coatings, Printing Inks, Foil printing and leather topcoats.

In 2003, further development led us to introduce Polymer-soluble Solvent Dyes-Primaplast Dyes having applications for Masterbatches, Engineering Plastics and Manmade Fibres.

To cater to the continuous and ever-growing demand for our solvent dyes, we have started a new manufacturing unit-Prima Chemicals Unit-II located in the industrial area of Vatva, Ahmedabad.

In lieu of our inclination towards specialized dyestuff, last year we introduced another specialized range of liquid solvent dyes-Primaliqe Liquid Dyes for Leather and water-based wood stains.
